Beth Faith, Preschool TeacherBeth is the lead teacher in the four and five-year old classroom at TLCC. She has been a preschool teacher for sixteen years, the last nine years at Congress St. UMC. Beth received a B.S. degree from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. She majored in Social Work. Beth worked in the personnel and social work fields before staying home to raise two children, Eric and Mindy. Eric lives in Dayton, Ohio, and works as an engineer for the Air Force. Mindy lives in Oxford, Ohio, and works as an Associate Director of Group Fitness at Miami University. Beth has been married 37 years to Mike, a district manager for Norandex Building Products in Lafayette and Muncie. They have lived in Connecticut, Ohio, and Kentucky before moving to Indiana nine years ago. They have two grandchildren, Calvin and Juliet. Ms. Beth, as she is known by her preschoolers, considers it a gift from God to be given the privilege to work with the children at TLCC.  It is important to her that each child's preschool years be filled with meaningful and fun experiences as they learn the necessary skills to ensure their success in kindergarten. Ms. Beth enjoys organizing a variety of activities each week around a theme. These activities often include art, music, drama, reading and writing readiness skills, math concepts, science experiences, cooking, and many more. Every Friday she tells bible stories to her preschoolers through puppet shows and flannel board figures as she shares with them the love of Jesus. Beth especially enjoys seeing the progress her students make from the beginning of the year to graduation. Ms. Beth reports, "I'm always amazed at how well they have learned letter recognition and letter sounds by their participation in our Zoophonics program." One of her favorite days at TLCC is when she dresses up as The Cat In The Hat  in celebration of Dr Seuss' birthday. "I almost fool them into thinking that I am the Cat and not Ms. Beth," she says. Other favorite days include Teddy Bear Picnic, Friendship Soup, holiday parties and special celebrations. Ms. Beth loves her preschoolers and desires that they feel loved, accepted and comfortable in her classroom. When she isn't in the classroom Beth enjoys antiquing, refinishing furniture, gardening, bible study and other church activities.
